How to make a success of your fund raising project

First thing is first:
Write down how much you want to raise and for what purpose. Next, write down the amount that you and your group would like to raise, followed by the number of people that will be helping to raise money.
 

Your written statement should look like the following example. 

I want to raise $3000.00 in order to send my team to Washington, DC.  I/we need to raise this amount by _________________. 

Next determine how many people you will need to raise the target amount

There are 30 people on the team. So we will need 30 cards. 30 cards will cost $300.00 or $450 with coupons. 30 cards will raise $3,000.00.

If possible ask each of them to pay up to $60 per card up front. This will motivate them to get there money back and help them to be committed. 

What should they say to people that they approach?

Hi my name is ____________________ and I am doing my part to raise the funds required to send my son to ____________________. Can you please help by scratching 2 - 3 dots on my card? Your gift will be based upon the amount revealed under the dot. 

Don't worry, the dot represent fifty cents to three dollars. 

(If you are providing coupons, let they know that they we receive a coupon redeemable it various locations) or 

(If you are providing certificates for a discount at a local business let them know).
